Would you rather have money or good health? Obviously wealth is not just money and material prosperity. And, of course, what each of us means by being wealthy is unique. Most, I venture to say, would say wealth includes financial freedom. The dictionary says wealth is: "an abundance of those things men desire; riches." And wealthy means: "affluent; more than sufficient; abounding."
Since I believe in a more than sufficient, abundant universe, I always feel wealthy. For me wealth also includes abundant energy, friendships, learning, liberty, and great health. Since making the decision to do my spiritual pilgrimage and let go of my material possessions and go in a state of love and service wherever I'm welcome, I already feel much wealthier than at any other time in my life. By the time I leave Denver at the end of December I will be debt-free and fancy-free, in the sense that I will carry no material burdens with me and have no credit cards or bank accounts. I don't know why, but this feels joyous to me.
I also understand that those who create wealth through worthwhile businesses can leave a big footprint in the world by giving back, but that just doesn't fit who I am. I know I can create money and give back by doing my business, but I'd rather not. And I'm happy to let others make money off my business, believe it or not. Peace Pilgrim made a huge footprint while penniless for 28 years. I'm following in her footsteps.
May you feel as full of LOVE and GRATITUDE as I do. Paula

This sounds like a big decision, and something that will really feed your soul. Good for you for following your heart.
You'll have to blog more about what is involved with this pilgrimage. I'm very curious.
All the best to you!
The Be-Loved Project -- Anyone can learn to feel more loving, thankful, and peaceful.
Motivated by three school shootings within a week and inspired by Peace Pilgrim, a woman who walked for 28 years and over 25,000 miles throughout the U.S. with just the clothes on her back and a message of peace, Dr. Paula Jeane, a.k.a. "Teacher," is launching a spiritual pilgrimage dedicated to helping thousands of people to create happier, more hopeful lives. The Be-Loved Project starts January 1st, 2007 in Joshua Tree, CA.
