Dec. 14, 2006 - The most powerful language in the world
Frank, who was the principal at a school where I taught, recently lost his wife and two young children in a hit-and-run accident. One thing I said to him was that I trust he will grieve with quality, the kind of quality he brings to his work, in order to pass on quickly through all the stages following such a horrific trauma and come to accept what is in peace. Beyond whatever words I used, I'm sure he could feel my love and compassion for him come across in my movements, touch, tone and other body language -- which I believe is the most powerful language in the world.
While walking in the canyon, many thoughts and feelings came up which I expressed to him in my head. Things like the teachings from Home With God in a Life That Never Ends by Neale Donald Walsch which makes it clear that death is a creative act and the timing is pefect according to each person's soul agenda and that of those he or she touched.
Anyway, the canyon was a perfect place to contemplate the rich cycle of life and death, which never ends. I did this by going into my emotions and working with them. Slowing down, as usual, was a big part of my process because it always helps me to tune into a higher level of consciousness that feels expansive, hopeful, and pure. Slowly drinking my water and sensing the gurgling brook in my belly became FUN. That's my job in life, to feel GOOD no matter what chaos is going on around me. To feel grounded, centered and balanced and stay in the NOW. With this ability comes a huge amount of gratitude and love, and efficiency of action. Busy-ness subsides. Overwhelm subsides. Peace arrives.
The Be-Loved Project -- Anyone can learn to feel more loving, thankful, and peaceful.
Motivated by three school shootings within a week and inspired by Peace Pilgrim, a woman who walked for 28 years and over 25,000 miles throughout the U.S. with just the clothes on her back and a message of peace, Dr. Paula Jeane, a.k.a. "Teacher," is launching a spiritual pilgrimage dedicated to helping thousands of people to create happier, more hopeful lives. The Be-Loved Project starts January 1st, 2007 in Joshua Tree, CA.
