The Be-Loved Project

Jan. 10, 2007 - Finally, 7th Heaven

After a wonderful 16 hour drive on the 4th of January, beating the third Denver blizzard out of town and which offered the perfect opportunity to listen to a six tape series on the "Lives of the Saints" by Hilda Charlton, I arrived at "7th Heaven." That's my name for my friends' property here in Joshua Tree. This is one of the many hidden gems behind desert gates that propels visitors into bliss.

Imagine a cozy house up against big rocks, trails around the rock piles that border on Joshua Tree National Park, a couple of coi ponds, a cactus garden that is covered in spring with huge splashes of colorful blossoms, innumerable happy, fluffy quails and other birds, and I could go on... It's a great place for a retreat and many old friends drop by just to hike up the stairs over the rocks to the next valley above. And until today, bright blue sky and afternoon warmth. The downside is that there has been a severe drought the last two years and many native desert plants are dead or dying. The uplifting arms of the Joshua trees are even endangered.

My service so far has been healing sessions and DJ, the husband, has made tremendous progress after quintuple bypass surgery. Of course, I help the caretaker, my soul-sister friend Luana, also. Every caretaker needs a caretaker. I've visited and run into old friends and have been very well-cared for. I sleep like a log, eat like a queen (only healthy foods), and connect more frequently and with greater quality to Spirit. Connections are being made for further places to stay, however, it seems I'm meant to stay here a while, which you'll never hear me complain about.

Love and blessings to all.

Hi Paula, it's your niece, just checking in and happy to know you're in beautiful Joshua Tree. Didn't I visit 7th Heaven when I was with you in JT 8 or 9 years ago? It sounds familiar... I can visualize the glorious desert rocks and recall hiking with you around there. Loved your blog entries, by the way. Many of your observations and self discoveries resonate with me. I wish you abundant blessings as you go your Be-Loved way! Love, Jules
