The Be-Loved Project

Jan. 13, 2007 - Desert Snow and Devotion

And I thought I had gotten away from the snow when leaving Denver! We got an inch yesterday here in Joshua Tree, which excited the locals no end and even looked beautiful to me after seeing too much snow this year. It melted fast but this morning the coi pond is frozen over. A first!

I've been reading more stories about saints, this time Bhavagad Das, who was a big part of Ram Das' India trip and the one who introduced him to Neem Karoli Baba, their guru. Love and devotion are always the bottom line in these astounding stories. I'm also reading Arny Mindell's "The Dreamaker's Apprentice" which keeps putting me into a dreaming state so I haven't gotten very far. It's great to not be in a rush and to have more time to read.

Is there a business that runs on the foundation of love and devotion? How does that work? I'd like to find out.

I'm feeling like it's time to leave here soon and continue towards the San Diego area. We'll see. It's Saturday, a good day to reconnect with more old friends. I still haven't connected with possible places to help in New Orleans and that area definitely calls me. It would be an honor to help out there. Love and blessings to all.
