I like to say that life is all about awareness, when you boil things down. For me personally, that includes understanding and balancing my opposing tendencies. One is to "lighten up" and let go of people and things with the background message "Thou shalt not be too attached." I have always found that pretty easy, for better or worse. The other is a "holding together" energy of uniting with others in order to complement and aid each other, which, for anyone who is a uniter, is a great responsibility.
Here in the desert at my friends' place that I call "7th Heaven," the holding together part has strengthened as we complement each other beautifully. It's been a time of slowing down and tuning into deeper levels of understanding and acknowledgement of all our strengths and needs. After doing healing sessions and healthy labor around the property (things got behind during DJ's month in the hospital and quintuple bypass surgery), we are all going to teach. My second class on Deep Sensory Yoga is tomorrow and I'll be doing an all-day workshop Feb. 10th. Not only that, DJ has planned some guided tours to share his vast knowledge of the desert and Luana has scheduled a nature and sandplay oriented women's workshop.
Even though lots of cacti froze during the long cold spell, spring is coming now to the desert in the form of birds, bees, fresh plant shoots, and bringing people together to learn from wise elders.

The Be-Loved Project -- Anyone can learn to feel more loving, thankful, and peaceful.
Motivated by three school shootings within a week and inspired by Peace Pilgrim, a woman who walked for 28 years and over 25,000 miles throughout the U.S. with just the clothes on her back and a message of peace, Dr. Paula Jeane, a.k.a. "Teacher," is launching a spiritual pilgrimage dedicated to helping thousands of people to create happier, more hopeful lives. The Be-Loved Project starts January 1st, 2007 in Joshua Tree, CA.
